Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Botox/Dysport last?

Each person is different based on their activity level and how quickly they metabolize the medication. However, I could safely say that it generally lasts approximately three months.

Why is Dysport less expensive?

It takes 2.5 to 3 times the amount of disport to get the same results as one unit of Botox so ultimately the cost of the total treatment comes out to about the same amount for each medication.

How long does filler last?

Again, it’s different for each individual. However, generally speaking, filler last 9 to 15 months.

Where can I get Botox and fillers?

These have only been studied and FDA approved for certain areas of the face, but there are many off label uses! So, if you have an area that you would like addressed, just make an appointment, and we will make our recommendations to you!

Will Botox “freeze” the muscles forever if used too much?

Neuromodulators, such as Botox, basically relax muscles, because certain muscle contraction creates the lines/wrinkles we see. There is a concept called muscle memory. It is possible that overtime, you may need less of the neuromodulator in order to get the same results. But at Awaken Beauty, we are not in the business of changing your natural look, we just want to help delay the aging process 😉

What if I’m allergic to Botox? How common is it?

It is not common at all for people to have a true allergy to neurotoxins. However, there are certain people with certain medical histories that should avoid neurotoxins.

Can I drink alcohol after Botox?

We usually recommend holding off on drinking alcohol for 24 hours, because you may see more bruising.

What is filler made of?

The active ingredient in filler is hyaluronic acid.

How is Botox different than fillers?

Botox relaxes muscles and filler does just that, fills in areas that we tend to lose the more birthdays we have.
